Divide ground beef into 4 equal balls.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
Place beef ball on skillet and smash thin using a spatula.
Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Cook beef for 2–3 minutes per side until crispy edges form.
Remove cooked smashed beef and set aside.
Spread butter on one side of each tortilla.
Place tortilla butter-side down on skillet.
Add shredded cheese, smashed beef, and American cheese slice.
Add lettuce, ketchup, and mayonnaise if desired.
Fold tortilla in half and cook until golden and crispy.
Flip and cook the other side for 1–2 minutes.
Slice and serve hot.
