Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup M&M candies
  • ½ cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking trays with parchment paper.
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl.
  • Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in egg, egg yolk, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
  • Fold in M&M candies and chocolate chips.
  • Scoop dough balls onto baking tray, spacing apart.
  • Bake 9–11 minutes until edges set and centers stay soft.
  • Cool on tray for 5 minutes before transferring to rack.

Notes

  • Chill the dough 30 minutes for thicker cookies, and add extra M&Ms on top before baking for a bakery-style appearance.
